What’s Happening at the Milwaukee Art Museum: May 30-June 5

Happy Summer to everyone! With Memorial Day marking the unofficial start to summer, the Museum will have expanded hours, and offer free admission to active duty military and their families.

Starting Monday, May 30, the Museum will be open seven days a week, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (until 8 p.m. on Thursdays). And, as a thank you to our men and women in uniform, admission to the Museum is free for active duty military and their families through Monday, September 5. The Museum would like to thank Blue Star Museums for their partnership in this effort.

This Thursday, June 2, is Target Free First Thursday and admission is free for all individuals. Stop in and preview the Summer of CHINA’s Warriors, Beasts, and Spirits: Early Chinese Art from the James Conley Collection, and kick off Downtown Dining Week in Cafe Calatrava. Enjoy a delicious 3-course lunch for only $10!

Weekends are for families, so be sure to come in this weekend for Sketching in the Galleries, Story Time in the Galleries, and the Kohl’s Art Generation Studio.

Don’t miss Sunday’s Artist Talk with David Lenz about this piece Sam and the Perfect World, 2 p.m. in Lubar Auditorium.

Have a great week, get outside, and get down to the Museum!
