In addition to the events, tours, sketching in the galleries, family activities, and more that the Museum hosts each week, this week features a special Wednesday night lecture by former Milwaukee Art Museum curator Glenn Adamson and a chance for Members to save extra on their Museum Store purchases.
On Wednesday, December 1, Glenn Adamson will give a special presentation in Lubar Auditorium on Affective Objects: Design and the Re-invention of Craft. The 6:15 p.m. lecture is open to the public and free with Museum admission.
Now at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, Adamson will talk about the magic of making. He will discuss how contemporary designers are returning to pre-modern ways of thinking about craft as a way of re-enchanting the objects they create. There is a reception following the lecture.
On Thursday, December 2, all Museum Members receive double discounts at the Museum Store (that means a 20% discount instead of the usual 10% off), and there is free shipping on all online orders the first two Mondays in December. Beat the holiday crowds and give an artful gift this holiday season! Or, give the gift of art all year long with a membership to the Museum.
Have a great week, and come experience the art for yourself!
