Spring is here, and with it, the world outside becomes brighter. There’s new life all around us, and everything feels fresh as the weather warms and the days grow long. As always, we celebrate the season with Art in Bloom during which the Museum is filled with the sights and sweet smells of spring. This year, events like Petals and Pours and Bloom Bash will infuse the weekend with new energy. I’m particularly happy to share that Wisconsin-based artist Beth Lipman’s Laid Table (Still Life with Metal Pitcher) is among the artworks to be interpreted into a floral arrangement. It’s the first time in more than a decade this sculpture is included, and I can’t wait to see how one of the region’s top florists interprets its intricacies.

There’s an undeniable buzz as people return to the lakefront, bringing with them a hum of laughter and conversation. In the East End, discover Milwaukeeans who contributed their stories in response to Derrick Adams’s Our Time Together. In Baker/Rowland Galleries, marvel at luminous paintings from the most significant collection of Hispanic art outside of Spain in The Brilliance of the Spanish World. Nothing compares to being here in person, so stop by and soak it all in! A great place to start is with this issue’s March Madness bracket inspired by Women’s History Month.

The Museum comes alive thanks to Members like you. I want to take a moment to honor two late Members and generous benefactors of the Milwaukee Art Museum, Jody Goisman and Anthony Krausen. Their decades of dedication, philanthropic support, and gifts to our collection helped shape the Museum into the thriving place it is today. Thank you, Jody and Anthony. Your legacies here continue to inspire.

Warmly,
