Alma Kneisel, manager of support groups, invites you to learn more about the Museum’s support group program and join in!

Picture this: You’re standing in the galleries, caught in a moment of decision. Are you drawn to Jules Chéret’s vibrant swirls of color or Katy Cowan’s sculptural texture? Bouguereau’s luminous brushwork or Dawoud Bey’s evocative realism? What pulls you in says something about you—and there’s a community here that feels the same.

Each of the Museum’s support groups connects passionate art lovers with what happens beyond the gallery walls. Through curator-led conversations, private receptions with artists and scholars, and behind-the-scenes access, they offer Members a deeper, more personal relationship with art and the Museum.

By joining a support group, you’re not just enriching your own experience, you’re helping sustain the Museum’s exhibitions, programs, and mission to make art accessible to all. Select from these groups:

African American Art Alliance

Contemporary Art Society

Fine Arts Society

Friends of Art

Photography Council

Print Forum

Ready to join in? Learn more about each group and giving level at mam.org/support-groups.
