Dear Members,

Legacy isn’t something we inherit. It’s something we build together.

As you flip through this issue, you’ll discover stories of visionaries who shaped the Milwaukee Art Museum through bold generosity and a shared belief in the power of art to connect, inspire, and transform. These stories are moving and deeply personal because they start with people like you.

You’ll meet Peg Bradley, a Member whose love for modern art turned into one of the most significant gifts in the Museum’s history. You’ll see how the Dunham family’s heartfelt scholarship opened doors for young artists to learn and grow within the very galleries that fuel their creativity. And you’ll read how local collectors helped bring a recent gift of works by Ho-Chunk artist Truman Lowe into the collection. These works celebrate a deep connection to the land and enrich the stories we tell about contemporary art.

These acts of civic philanthropy, large and small, are united by a common thread: a belief that art belongs to all of us.

As Members whose support sustains this Museum, you are part of that legacy. You bring life to our exhibitions, energy to our galleries, and joy to every moment of discovery. If you’re looking to get more involved, our support groups offer meaningful ways to deepen your impact and connect with others who care as much as you do.

And while we honor legacy, we also celebrate the joy of being together. Come to MAM After Dark and dance the night away in Windhover Hall. Bring your family to Kohl’s Family Sundays: Día de los Muertos to create and have fun together. Visit dressed as your favorite artwork on Halloween. This is what it means to be part of a community and to build something beautiful and then enjoy it together.

Thank you for being here. For being part of this extraordinary story. For believing in art—and in each other.

See you in the galleries!
