What’s Happening at the Milwaukee Art Museum: March 14-March 20

Welcome to yet another busy week at the Museum, especially for kids and Frank Lloyd Wright fans!

Just opened, “Just the WRIGHT Size: Designing and Building Small Houses” is the new Kohl’s Art Generation Gallery feature exhibition. Try your hand at building as you learn from the pros. “Just the WRIGHT Size” considers Frank Lloyd Wright’s lessons for the present day, and in this hands-on exhibition, you will lean about the techniques Mr. Wright used to make small homes.

Also new is the Kohl’s Art Generation iPod Touch Tours, designed for kids 12 and under. These free, interactive tours help your visitors learn about art through games, videos, and scavenger hunts through the Museum’s Collection. Check out this video on Museum Manners!

Don’t forget, admission for kids 12 and under is free every day at the Museum.

For the adults, there’s a Frank Lloyd Wright Gallery Talk at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, and an Express Talk at 12 p.m. on Thursday, March 17. Plus, Saturday, March 19 includes a Book Salon on Frank Lloyd Wright: An Autobiography at 10:30 a.m. Reservations for Saturday’s Book Salon are required.

Need more? There’s Story Time in the Galleries and Sketching in the Galleries on Saturday, and the Kohl’s Art Generation Open Studio on Sunday.

And, just opened, don’t miss The New Materiality: Digital Dialogues at the Boundaries of Contemporary Craft. This art-bending exhibition will make you question what you think you know about art, design, and craft.
