What’s happening at the Milwaukee Art Museum: Sept. 19-Sept. 26

This week the Museum plays host to MAM After Dark, Warrington Colescott, and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

On Tuesday, September 21, Curator Catherine Sawinski and Conservator Terri White will host a Gallery Talk highlighting Intimate Images of Love and Loss: Portrait Miniatures in the Koss Gallery at 1:30 p.m. The hour-long discussion is free with Museum admission. The Portrait Miniatures exhibition runs through Sunday, October 31.

On Friday, September 24, MAM After Dark returns to the Museum with Back to Skool, featuring Milwaukee’s own True Skool in a breakdancing competition. Luckystar Gallery will be on hand displaying a one-night-only exhibition honoring the work of Warrington Colescott, and Mr. Colescott will be here in person for a 6:15 panel discussion in Lubar Auditorium, followed by a book signing. Plus, enjoy music by 88Nine Radio Milwaukee, the DIY Station, and Photo Booth. Get your tickets today!

On Sunday, September 26, the Museum will host the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Race participants will receive free admission on race day, and survivors will receive a voucher for free admission during the month of October. Register for the Race at komenmilwaukee.org or come down on Race Day, get signed up, and experience the Museum for yourself.

Warrington Colescott.
It was a delight to attend, listen and learn the evening of Sept. 24th.
It is a rewarding experience to roast artists and acknowledge their accomplishments.
Thanks for inviting us to MAM to gain an understanding of artists and enjoyment
of a pleasureable evening.
